The far-flung war activities of the 42,000 B’nai B’rith women, ranging from the sale of war bonds to rolling bandages for the armed forces, were reported on here today at the opening session of the annual meeting of the Women’s Supreme Council of B’nai B’rith.
Mrs. Maurice Turner of Chicago, president of the group, reported that it has equipped 318 recreation facilities for the Army and Navy, has contributed $140,000 to B’nai B’rith war service projects, and has produced 3,500,000 surgical dressings for the Red Cross. The women have also sold $34,000,000 worth of war bonds since January.
