A special meeting of the Board of Deputies of British Jews today reiterated its stand not to participate in the London conference on Palestine unless the Jewish Agency decides to do so.
By a vote of 168 to 39, the Board rejected a resolution which called for acceptance of the government’s invitation to participate in the conference and urged the deputies to endeavor to secure participation of the Agency.
Prof. Selig Brodetsky, president of the Board, criticized the 30 deputies who had demanded that today’s meeting be held, declaring that there has been no change in the government’s Palestine policy to warrant any new action.
