The increasing rate of juvenile delinquency and the newest methods in the treatment of so-called “problem children” will be discussed tonight at the fifteenth annual meeting of the Jewish Board of Guardians in the grand ballroom of the home of Adolph Lewisohn, 881 Fifth avenue.
Dr. David M.Levy, formerly chief of staff of the Institute for Child Guidance, and Judge George W. Smyth of the Children’s Court of Westchester County, principal speakers of the evening, will be introduced by George Z. Medalie, president of the Board.
Dr. John Slawson, executive director of the Board, in his annual address will present new plans for the treatment of juvenile delinquency, which are being tried out for the first time in the history of work with children at the Hawthorne and Cedar Knolls Schools. The plans have been inaugurated by the new director, Harry M. Shulman.
