The body of Paul May, late Belgian Ambassador to the United States, who died here July 30, is on its way to Belgium aboard the cruiser Pensacola today.
Under reduced speed the cruiser will arrive at Antwerp August 27. Accompanying the body are Dave Hennen Morris, U. S. Ambassador to Belgium, personal representative of President Roosevelt, and Richard Southgate, chief of the Division of Conferences and Protocols of the State Department, as special representative of Secretary of State Hull. Mme. May and her daughter, Francoise, will sail for Belgium on Saturday aboard the He de France.
At impressive ceremonies yesterday at the Arlington National Cemetery when the body of Ambassador May was taken from the Maine Memorial Crypt, eight Jewish soldiers from Fort Washington were pallbearers. The escort included the Marine Band, a provisional battalion of marines and blue-jackets, a mounted cavalry band from Fort Myer and a provisional squadron of cavalry.
