Henry Malka was brought “home” today to be buried in the Negev township of Dimona, east of Beersheba. The township turned out to pay a last homage to a youngster it never knew but whom it regarded as a local hero. Malka, born in a Moslem country that still cannot be identified because of security reasons, was sent back to his place of birth at the age of 21 with the mission of saving that country’s Jews. He was killed there. The exact nature of his mission remains a secret. Several years ago his body was smuggled to France where it was buried. It is not known why his body was not returned to Israel at that time. Until recently his parents were unaware of his whereabouts or his death. His body was returned to Haifa last night and he was buried in Dimona today. His parents will receive a special grant and a scroll bearing his name will be donated to the Dimona Synagogue.
