Four people were wounded, one seriously, when a bomb exploded in a narrow alley outside a Palestinian coffee shop in the old city of Jerusalem yesterday, police officials said. The bomb, in a plastic bag, was at first thrown into the coffee shop where several Palestinian men were playing cards, according to eye-witness accounts. They said people in the shop were able to get the bag out of the shop and into the alley where it exploded. The shop is located just off the Street of Chains, which leads to the Temple Mount, site of shrines sacred to both Jews and Moslems.
