A used clothing shop run by Hias, the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, was damaged yesterday by a bomb that exploded in the doorway of the West Side Liberal Club which has its headquarters over the store. The bomb was the 16th in recent weeks believed to have been planted by anti-Castro Cubans. Hias officials pointed out that the agency has worked to resettle 5,409 Jews who have left Cuba since Castro seized power in 1959. The bombing was linked to the anti-Castro group by a phone call to news media which said that a secret Cuban organization was protesting against the “liberal” Government of the United States that allegedly encouraged Communists.
