The bones of about ten Jewish inmates of a Nazi concentration camp were this week-end discovered in an unmarked grave. The discovery was made near Ludwigafeld, in Bavaria in the U.S. zone of Germany.
A German court at Wiesbaden has begun the trial of Herbert Furth and 15 codefendants accused of destroying a synagogue and Jewish homes and shops during the November 10, 1938, pogram. Sixty-five witnesses will testify during the trial.
Seven tombstones in the Jewish cemetery of Wankheim, near Stuttgart, were recently overturned by unknown vandals, it was reported during the week-end.
In Berlin, several hundred persons staged a demonstration protesting the appearance of Werner Krauss in a performance of Ibsen’s “John Gabriel Borkman.” Krauss was denounced for portraying two characters in the Nazi-produced film, “Jew Suess.”
