West Germany has asked Norway to submit evidence against Helmuth Reichard, wartime Gestapo chief in the Oslo area who has been arrested in Baden Baden, it was reported here today.
Some 15 witnesses have reported to Oslo police and numerous documents and testimonials will be sent to the Baden prosecutor. Reichard was considered directly responsible for the deportation of Norwegian Jews and the execution of Norwegian patriots. It was understood that Norway was not likely to ask for the Nazi’s extradition.
