The American Jewish Congress said today that it was imperative that West Germany abolish the statute of limitations on war crimes prosecutions in light of the “massive new photographic and documentary evidence” about Nazi war criminals recently made available to West German authorities by the Soviet Union. Dr. Joachim Prinz, chairman of the AJC commission on international affairs, noted that West Germany’s chief war crimes prosecutor, Adalbert Rueckerl, just returned from a visit to Moscow with a “vast amount of new material.”
