A gift of $250,000 from the Slosberg family of Boston and a foundation set up by the family was announced today by the Beth Israel Hospital Development Fund.
The hospital is seeking $7,500,000 to expand facilities for patient care teaching and research. The Green Shoe-Stride Rite Charitable Foundation of the Green Shoe Manufacturing Company, owned by the Slosberg family, participated in the gift.
The main floor of the hospital’s outpatient department, which is to be completely renovated, will be named the Charles Slosberg Floor. The family made a $100,000 grant to the hospital in 1951 for research in diabetes.
