Bowlers raised $40,000 in New York in memory of an American-born doctor killed in a Jerusalem terrorist attack Sept. 9. About 250 bowlers turned out Sunday in Manhattan for the second annual Bowl-a-thon for Israel, with proceeds going to the new emergency room at Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek hospital, dedicated in memory of Dr. David Applebaum.
