The Joint Boycott Council of the American Jewish Congress and the Jewish Labor Committee announced today automatic extension of the anti-Nazi boycott to the Sudeten areas ceded by Czechoslovakia to Germany, declaring in a statement that “the newest international outrage has demonstrated the necessity for democratic people to defend themselves by means of economic boycott.”
The Council said about one-fourth of the Czechoslovakian exports of $37,000,000 to the United States came from the Sudeten areas. These included textiles, glass and chinaware, Linens, cotton goods, carpets, artificial flowers, leather gloves, pottery, mechanical products, semi-precious stones, beads, novelties and chemicals.
