Eighty blind persons–Jews and non-Jews, whites and Blacks–signed a Braille petition yesterday asking President Nixon to demand equal rights for Soviet Jews when he visits Moscow in May. The unusual petition, a project of the Student Struggle for Soviet Jewry, was devised by Joshua Barzilay, a Columbia University student who is a volunteer at the Jewish Guild for the Blind. The SSSJ said it welcomed cooperation in the project by other groups assisting the sightless.
