The Louis D. Brandeis Award for 1967 was presented last night to the Hoffberger Family of Baltimore “in recognition of their historic service to the cause of an independent Israel, for their leadership in promoting the economic stability of Israel, for devoted service to the humanitarian cause of the victims of the Nazi holocaust and for their constant devotion and dedication to the preservation and strengthening of Judaism throughout the United States.”
The presentation was made at a dinner here attended by more than 1,100 persons by Jacques Torczyner, president of the Zionist Organization of America. It was accepted by LeRoy Hoffberger. president of the Hoffberger Foundation, who is campaign chairman of the Associated Jewish Charities and Welfare Fund drive.
