Declaring that the Palestine Development Council was doing its own work in Palestine, J dge Julian W. Mack. President of the Council, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency correspondent he was unable to make any statement regarding the possibility of the so-called Brandeis Group, which resigned its leadership in 1921, returning to the Zionist Organization of America. Judge Mack is stopping here on the way from Palestine.

Judge Mack declared himself full of hopes for the future of the country. The Jewish colonies, he said, form an oasis in the midst of the country’s aridity. It was possible, he said, to extend these colonies to the rest of the country. What is needed is people, money and irrigation and not philanthropy. Palestine must not become a “chaluka” country, the jurist warned.

“Apart from polemics and undue optimism I am deeply convinced,” said Judge Mack, “that the relations between the Jews and Arabs of Palestine can be established on a sound and peaceful basis. It is necessary ### only to emphasize the value of Jewish colonization to the Arabs. We must enlighten Arab opinion and understanding is sure to follow.”
