Appointment of Prof. Max R. Grossman as provost of Brandeis University was announced today by George Alpert, president of the board of trustees of the non-sectarian Jewish-sponsored university for which a $15,000,000 endowment campaign is now in progress. At the same time, Professor Grossman’s resignation as director of the Boston University Division of Journalism was announced.
As provost of Brandeis University, Prof. Grossman is the institution’s first faculty apointee and will be charged with the administration of all academic interests of the university until a president is named, Mr. Alpert declared. Prof. Grossmen will complete his teaching duties at Boston University early in July. His appointment to Brandeis University became effective June 1st.
