The Brazilian Government today ordered the police to close Zionist centers throughout the country, after Minister of Justice Francisco Campos had prohibited the functioning of the Brazilian Zionist Federation under the law banning foreign organizations. Brazil’s obligation to the Palestine mandate has been nullified with her departure from the league of Nations, it was explained, and the Zionist Federation is considered a foreign society because its constitution advocates establishment of a Jewish homeland in the Holy Land.
