Sixteen Jewish refugees from Germany who arrived here on tourist visas were today refused admittance into the country. Seven others were arrested in Sao Paulo on information furnished the authorities by reputed Nazi groups, but were later released.
The sixteen refugees arrived on the Campania. Jewish groups here, intervening in behalf of the Jewish exiles, expressed hope that their status would be legalized and said that Government circles were favorable.
