Participation by Brazilian Government and communal leaders highlighted the celebration of Israel’s Independence Day here. More than 2,000 persons attending a special demonstration heard an address by Israel Minister of Trade Pinchas Sapir, who is now visiting Brazil, and a plea by General Flores de Cunhavice-president of Brazil’s House of Representatives, that Jewish youth take part in the construction and defense of Israel. Rep. Euripides Cardoso de Menezes, president of the Brazilian Catholic League told the rally that the collapse of what he termed the new Egyptian Pharoah would follow a war against Israel.
