The first ten lectures in a series of seminars covering the entire range of modern Jewish community life and organization have been completed here under auspices of the Brazilian-Jewish Institute of Culture. Leading Brazilian intellectuals, including Moses Kaufmann, president of the Brazilian Jewish Confederation, served as moderators for the lectures.
The seminars are being sponsored by the regional council of B’nai B’rith and the Israelite Federation of the State of Sao Paulo and aided by the American Jewish Committee Community Service. Prof. Heinrich Rattner, a sociologist, and Dr. Alfred Hirschberg, American Jewish Committee representative, directed the project.
A second 12-lecture cycle sponsored by the B’nai B’rith regional council and the Institute, will begin in October.
