The Jewish community of Rio de Janeiro tendered Joseph Tjornitzky a farewell banquet for the “splendid direction” he gave to Brazil’s emergency campaign in behalf of Israel. Tjornitzky will leave today for Jerusalem, travelling via New York, to assume directorship of the newly-created Latin American department of the Keren Hayesod.
