The Confederation of Jewish Communities of Brazil protested today against a daily newspaper published in Recife, capital of the State of Pernambuco, which charged that Jewish youth organizations advocating Zionism, strengthening of Jewish education and Jewish emigration to Israel are “conspiring” to advocate “Nazi, racist” theories.
According to officials of the Confederation, the management of the newspaper, Jornal do Comercio, has declared that the “conspiratorial” document emanating from Zionist youth groups had been “forced” on the editors by “highest police authorities,” and that Brazilian security agents are now “probing” the activities of the Zionist youth.
