Brazilian Senator Demands End to Restriction Against Jews in Government Services

Voicing a demand for a constitutional guarantee prohibiting racial and religious discrimination, Nogueira of the United Democratic National Party today protested the restrictions against Jews and Negroes in Brazil’s diplomatic service and military, naval, and astronautical academies. Senator Nogueira spoke at a session of the Brazilian National Assembly, which is currently at work drafting a new constitution.
