Mrs. I. W. Hellman, Jr., Widow of a prominent local banker and president of the Federation of Jewish Charities, is the donor of a splendidly equipped gymnasium which has just been dedicated as an adjunct of the Neighborhood House, a settlement place for girls.

Rabbi Louis I. Newman of Temple Emanu-El was the principal speaker at the dedication of Mrs. Hellman’s gift gymnasium.

Rabbi Samuel Goldenson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, spoke before 1,500 student and faculty member in the Auditorium of the University of Illinois at Champaign, on Sunday, Nov. 16.

The Girl Scout drive for the Building and Budget Fund has reached $215,826, it was announced at a luncheon of the campaigners. Will Rogers spoke and Mrs. Kahn was the guest of honor. Mrs. Arthur O. Choate was the hostess. Felix Warburg and Joseph P. Day have each pledged $10,000 it was reported.

Rabbi Morris Teller of Tulsa, Oklahoma delivered the Benediction at the celebration of the completion of the Spavinaw Water Works. This Benediction was delivered just after President Coolidge pressed the button at Washington which started the flow of water at Tulsa. The out-door celebration was attended by the Governor of Oklahoma and the other state officials. About 10,000 attended.

The various Jewish societies of Poughkeepsie, N. Y., held a meeting for the purpose of making plans to form a Federation.
