Brisbane Comments on Zangwill’s Speech

The following is the comment of Arthur Brisbane on Israel Zangwill’s speech before the American Jewish Congress:

“A serious discussion among our Jewish fellow citizens on the subject of Zionism ought to enlighten some idiots that have talked about a great Jewish conspiracy to rule the world and everybody in it.

“Israel Zangwill, who thinks, but does not know, says the Jewish people in Jerusalem can never be politically successful. That is probably what anybody would have said about the Irish nation at any time during the last seven hundred years.

“But the Free State is established.”
