Authoritative British circles today denied the allegation made in the United States that the governments of Egypt, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon were inspired by the British Government to send protests to the State Department in Washington against the Palestine resolution now before Congress.
Two of the four Arab governments informed the British Government of the texts of their protests merely as a matter of courtesy, it was explained. As to the Egyptian request to release Palestine Arab leaders who have been interned for their anti-British activities, it was pointed out by the same circles that the British Government has no intention of changing its policy in this matter.
