Britain Favors U. N. Administration for Gaza Strip, Minister Says

The British Government continues to favor a United Nations administration for the Gaza Strip, Foreign Secretary Selwyn Lloyd declared today in a written reply to a question by Barnett Janner, Labor M. P

Mr. Janner had pointed out that responsible segments of the Gaza Strip population would welcome continuation of the Israel Administration. Mr. Lloyd refused, as had been requested by Mr. Janner and another M. P. , to support in the United Nations a proposal to leave an Israel civil administration in the Gaza territory.
