Britain froze the assets of five Hamas leaders. “This action has been taken because the Treasury has reasonable grounds for suspecting that four of the individuals are, or may be, persons who facilitate or participate in the commission of acts of terrorism,” Britain’s Treasury said in a statement Wednesday, referring to Hamas political chief Khaled Meshaal and four other senior members of the Islamic terrorist group.
