Palestine is of primary importance to England, the London “Daily Telegraph” declares in an editorial today reviewing the series of articles on the Palestine situation by Sir Martin Conway, which have just been concluded in that paper.
“Until Palestine was secured, it was a menace to England”, the paper declares. “If Palestine were to be independent, British troops defending the Suez canal would have to camp in the desert”, it contends.
The maintenance and development of the Jewish Homeland in Palestine will benefit the British Empire as a whole, it concludes.
