The British Government formally protested to Israel today in a note denouncing Israel’s attack on Syrian positions. The note was delivered at the Foreign Office today by Permanent Foreign Under Secretary Sir Ivone Kirkpatrick to Israel Ambassador Eliahu Elath. Britain announced in the note that it takes a “grave view” of Israel’s action and has decided to support Syria’s appeal to the United Nations Security Council tomorrow.
