The 279 Jewish terrorist suspects who have been confined in an internment camp in Eritrea have been moved to Carthage in the Sudan, where they are living in a former RAF camp, it was announced here today.
The announcement also disclosed that a committee consisting of Major J.J. Evers, director of Army Welfare; Dr. W. K. Bigger, deputy chief of the Medical Services; J. S. Bentwich, Assistant Director of Education; and J. A. Briance, Assistant Director of Police, will shortly visit the Sudan camp to check on the living conditions of the deportees and the educational and occupational facilities afforded them.
In letters received here from the internees while they were in Eritrea they complained of conditions in the camp, charging that they were inadequately fed and housed and that sanitary facilities were lacking.
