The British policy in Palestine was held up as an example of perfidy as Senator Clark of Idaho fought against repeal of the arms embargo today.
Charging that Britain’s record of racial and religious persecution was no better than Germany’s, Clark shouted: “The British in Palestine first made promises to the Arabs, and then made promises to the Jews. Then when the Arabs got too hot for them they broke these promises.”
