Britani May Increase Subsidy to Jordan’s Army

The British Government has informed the Jordan Government that it is considering increasing its annual subsidy to Jordan’s armed forces from 6,500,000 pounds to 9,000,000, it was reported here today.

The same report said that Britain may indirectly contribute to the Jordan Government’s proposed development of the port of Akaba, which adjoins the Israeli port of Eilath. The Jordanians have announced that they will spend 250,000 pounds on Akaba immediately.
