In authorizing a complete investigation into charges of alleged racial discrimination at Rutgers University, the Independent Order of B’rith Sholom committee, at an executive conference here, had heard specific cases which tend to substantiate the current reports that a “numerus clausus” is in operation. Announcement to this effect came from Alfred J. Biederman a member of the committee, following the meeting, which was held in the office of A. Sigmund Kanengieser, past grand master.
The committee decided also to participate in the general conference of seven prominent organizations, which are national and state-wide in scope, Tuesday night in this city, to outline the mode of procedure for ascertainment of facts to substantiate the charges. The I. O. B. S. committee pledged its co-operation in this respect. The meeting was addressed by Samuel Einhorn, Philadelphia attorney and counsel to the Order.
