British Aliens Tribunals End Task, Freeing Most Refugee Suspects

The 112 aliens tribunals which began their work in October are to be disbanded since their work is practically completed. From now on, examination of enemy aliens in this country will be conducted by the Home Office.

Of a total of 62,389 persons technically classified as “enemy aliens” who were interviewed by the tribunals, 48,244 were refugees. Of these 120 were ordered interned, 5,416 were exempted from special restrictions and 42,697 were exempted from both internment and special restrictions.
