British arms companies reportedly have stepped up exports to Israel. According to London’s Guardian on Thursday, some $44 million worth of British weaponry were sold to the Jewish state in 2005, almost double the volume of the previous year and the most since 1999. The sales come despite a British Foreign Office decision to list Israel as a “country of concern” because of its military confrontation with the Palestinians.
