The British Cabinet met today under the presidency of Ramsay MacDonald to take up the Palestine situation again.

The Second Battalions of the Hampshires and West Yorkshire regiments left for the Holy Land on the steamer California.

The Havas News Agency quoted reports that the Turkish Government has offered to use its influence over the Palestine Moslems to effect a pacific settlement of disorders in the Holy Land.

While official circles remained non-committal, Havas said, their open satisfaction over a forthcoming visit of Turkish Premier Ismet Inonu to London was taken to reflect some optimism on this score.

Formulation of an Anglo-Turkish-Egyptian accord designed to frustrate any eventual Italian coup in the Mediterranean was predicted as a possible result of the visit.
