The British Cabinet will meet here on Wednesday to discuss the Palestine situation on the basis of the developments of the past few days.
These include: the conversations between Jewish Agency leaders and Colonial Secretary Hall last Thursday, the two meetings in Paris between Hall and Bevin and three Agency leaders, and the announcement of the Arab League which rejected partition, but agreed to attend the scheduled talks here provided they are not asked to meet jointly with the Jews.
Zionist circles said that it is possible that Jewish Agency representatives might meet with Hall and Bevin again later this week, perhaps after the Cabinet meeting. Hall is believed to be acting as a liaison between the Foreign Minister and the Cabinet members who are dealing with the Palestine issue.
Informed sources said tonight that the government will probably be willing to make some concessions to the Zionist demands, which are reported to include release of the imprisoned Agency leaders, a larger Jewish portion of Palestine and control over immigration. How far the Cabinet is willing to go, however, is not known.
Dr. Chaim Weizmann is reported to be making good progress today following an eye operation here. Further treatment over a period of a week is necessary, after which it is hoped his eyesight will be fully restored.
