The next meeting of the British cabinet will take up the matter of the government issuing a new statement that will amplify and explain its recent White Paper on Palestine which has aroused a storm of protest and indignation not only in Jewish circles throughout the world but among non-Jews as well.
Reports to the effect that the government has been considering such an explanatory declaration have been current for several days and are now confirmed by practically the entire London press, including the Times. While government circles are of the opinion that the White Paper has been misunderstood and misinterpreted by its critics there is no disguising the fact that the government is seriously disturbed by the resentment its new Palestine policy has created.
