Dr. Israel Brodie, British Chief Rabbi, prayed for the recovery of President Eisenhower yesterday during Yom Kippur services at the St. Johns Wood Synagogue here.
In his sermon, Chief Rabbi Brodie declared that Jews throughout the world, in common with well-wishers of the President everywhere, were deeply anxious about the state of his health. It was “appropriate and incumbent upon us on this solemn day, when the fate of men is sealed and determined, to invoke Divine help and blessing on behalf of this great ruler of a great nation who was deeply concerned and had been laboring earnestly and steadfastly for the preservation of peace in the world, “he said.
