Chief Rabbi Israel Brodie today called a meeting of major Anglo-Jewish organizations for February 10, to discuss the situation of Soviet Jewry. The announcement followed disclosure by Maurice Edelman, president of the Anglo-Jewish Association, that he had suggested the summoning of such a conference to the Chief Rabbi.
Among organizations expected to participate arethe Anglo-Jewish Association, the Board of Deputies of British Jews, the British Section of the World Jewish Congress, B’nai B’rith, Agudat Israel and one or two others.
