Sir Hugh Dow, British Consul General in the Old City, entered the New City today. It is understood he plans to establish in the Jewish sector of Jerusalem a permanent British consulate to replace the provisional facilities now in existence here.
U.S. Ambassador James G. McDonald, who spent several weeks visiting Washington, returned to Israel today. Meanwhile, a report from Moscow said today that Soviet Ambassador to Tel Aviv Pavel Yershov, who has been absent from Israel for some time, yesterday visited the Israel Minister in the Soviet capital prior to embarking on a return trip to the Jewish state. Mr. Yershov plans to bring his wife and daughter with him.
