The report of the British Consul General at Beirut on the commercial relations between British Palestine and French Syria has just been made public here.
Thanks to the recent treaty between the countries, business conditions in Syria have somewhat improved, the Consul said, but conditions will never be what they should until the near east becomes politically stabilized.
The report also complains of the poor railroad connections between the two countries and of the poor highways between Beirut and Tripoli to the Palestine border.
The tourist traffic, the report says, is just as vital to Syria as to Palestine, and consequently, a regular service is available for tourists from Constantinople and Egypt through Palestine.
