The Foreign Office today made it clear that “there was never any suggestion” that Mr. Eri Jabotinsky, son of the late leader of the Zionist-Revisionist Party, was in any way involved in the assassination of Lord Moyne, British Resident Minister in Cairo.
In a letter to F.S. Cocks, member of Parliament, the Foreign Office said: “We understand that the Turkish authorities arranged for Mr. Jabotinsky, who is a Palestinian citizen, to leave Turkey for Palestine in February last. On his arrival, he was detained for a few days for interrogation under the Palestine Defense Regulations, but he was released on 2nd March. There was never any suggestion that Mr. Jabotinsky was involved in the assassination of Lord Moyne.”
