A warning against illegal immigration to Palestine was issued by the Foreign Office today in the following statement:
“It is reported that certain shipping agencies are organizing the transport of emigrants from the Danubian countries to Palestine. There is reason to believe that the intending emigrants do not know that they will not be admitted unless they possess immigration certificates and that if they arrive without certificates they are liable to serious penalties and to be deported under Palestine law.
“It is furthermore alleged that the ships on which the emigrants travel at great expense are small, unsanitary and unseaworthy. The captains and crews of these ships do not appear to know that if they carry passengers not legally entitled to land they themselves are liable to arrest and heavy fine.”
