Dr. Drummond Shiels, the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies, and Mr. Young, the Chief Secretary to the Palestine Government, will be the accredited British Representatives at the next meeting of the Permanent Mandates Commission of the League of Nations, which will be opened here on June 9th., the J.T.A. representative learns.

The British Government is anxious, it is understood, to present a detailed report, embodying full replies to the various questions put to the British Representative at the last meeting of the Mandates Commission. It is in order that it should be able to deal with all the questions concerned that the British Government is so anxious to speed up the negotiations with the Jewish and the Arab representatives, it is further understood, so that it should be in a position to show what positive measures it intends to take to further Palestine development in the interests both of the non-Jewish population and of the Jewish National Home.

The British Government will present to the Mandates Commission its own recommendations on the development of Palestine, it is added, irrespective of whether the Jewish or the Arab representatives accept them or not.
