Three awards of $500 each for teaching excellence have been won by University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee faculty members. One was Alan Corre, professor of Hebrew Studies. A native of London. England, Corre received the First Class Honors B.A. in ancient and medieval Hebrew and Aramaic from Jews’ College, University of London, in 1951; his M.A. in Semitic languages from the University of Manchester in 1953, and his Ph.D. in linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1962. In 1966 Corre won first prize for research in the Humanities from the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters. Corre, 42, joined UWM in 1963.
