A campaign for a 150,000 memorial fund in honor of the late Nathan Laski, British Jewish philanthropist and communal leader, who died several months ago, was opened today by Lord Derby. It is hoped that the memorial will include extensions to the Manchester Jewish hospital, establishment of a Nathan Laski scholarship at Manchester University, and establishment of a Jewish school and a Jewish communal hall to house the administrative offices of the Jewish community here. L10,000 were subscribed to the fund before the campaign was officially opened, it was announced today.
