British Jews are criticizing recommendations from an animal welfare body that would effectively outlaw kosher slaughter in the United Kingdom. “The Jewish community is completely opposed to the Farm Animal Welfare Council’s recommendation in favor of stunning” animals before killing them, said Henry Grunwald, the president of the umbrella Board of Deputies.
